Welcome to Le Pain Quotidien, an inviting corner of the Financial District in New York City, where simple, organic dishes unite with a cozy atmosphere to create an unforgettable dining experience. Nestled at 85 Broad St, New York, NY 10004, this Belgian-inspired bakery and restaurant has garnered a reputation for its commitment to serving wholesome food prepared with care.
As I stepped inside, the aroma of freshly baked artisan sourdough bread welcomed me, promising a delightful journey through their menu. The ambiance exudes a warmth that is both upscale and approachable, making it an ideal spot for everything from morning coffee to a leisurely lunch. The inviting atmosphere is heightened by the attentive service, ensuring you feel right at home.
One of the standout dishes that captured my heart is the Sunny Side Breakfast Bowl. This delightful concoction features warm farro tossed with roasted Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes, harmonized by caramelized onions and Tuscan kale. Topped with a perfectly cooked sunnyside egg and a sprinkle of pistachio dukkah, it offers a robust, satisfying flavor profile that is further elevated by the addition of a slice of their artisanal sourdough bread. Each bite is a testament to how simple ingredients can create a symphony of taste.
If you prefer something lighter, the Avocado Toast is a must-try. This dish features a generous spread of fresh avocado mash atop toasted sourdough, accented by citrus cumin salt and chia seeds. The combination of textures and flavors makes for a truly refreshing experience.
Le Pain Quotidien is not just about breakfast; the lunch offerings are equally enticing. Guests rave about the Muhammara Veggie Flatbread, which pairs beautifully with a comforting bowl of Chicken Soup. Many patrons, like Alexander Graham, appreciate the well-prepared egg dishes, while Luiz Fernando Scapini couldn't resist indulging in the delectable pastries that evoke a feeling of indulgence and comfort.
Their selection of Viennoiseries is equally impressive. From the rich layers of the Pain au Chocolat to the crispy Cheese Danish, each pastry is crafted with precision, making them the perfect accompaniment to a steaming cup of coffee. Speaking of coffee, while some might find the unique bowl-style cups unconventional, the quality of the brew is undeniably exquisite, providing the perfect pick-me-up.
In every aspect—from the inviting atmosphere to the thoughtfully curated menu—Le Pain Quotidien embodies a philosophy centered around community and wholesome, flavorful food. This delightful establishment truly caters to both the heart and palate, ensuring that each visit is not just a meal, but an experience to remember. Whether you're a local or a visitor, make it a point to stop by and enjoy the delicious offerings that await you here.

I had a pleasant lunch at Le Pain Quotidien before heading to the Statue of Liberty. The atmosphere was cozy, and the sweet pastries were excellent—fresh and delicious. The coffee was also great, though I prefer a traditional mug over the bowl-style cup they serve it in. The bread was especially good, which is why I was hoping for a runny yolk in my skillet eggs, but unfortunately, they were cooked through. Despite that, the overall experience was very positive, and I’d definitely visit again for the pastries and coffee.

It is a nice breakfast place with fresh bread and pastries. It’s a bit pricier than other spots around here, but the vibe is definitely upscale. I went for the avocado toast with smoked salmon added on, and it was super tasty! It came with some veggies and a zesty lemon dressing that went really well with it. Plus, the coffee was delicious too!

I usually get my morning pastries from here. They have various options (my fave being the chocolate almond croissant). The sunny side breakfast bowl is pretty good. I like their salads as well. I have had the Grilled Chicken Cobb & Medi. Caesar salads and they were both filling & healthy.

Located on the corner of Broad St. & Pearl St. in the Financial District, lower Manhattan. This is a Belgian bakery & restaurant serving simple, organic healthy food options. My husband had their 'Muhammara Veggie Flatbread', 'Chicken Soup', and a Lemonade. He loved his meal. I had their 'Ham & Gruyere on a French Roll' (which comes with a small salad) accompanied with hot tea and a 'Mini Carrot Cake' as dessert. When they say "mini," they mean mini. It's about a bite-sized cake but was enough for my taste buds. Everything tasted fresh and very satisfying. Shout out to our server, 'Kevin' who was welcoming and attentive. The restaurant was organized with plenty of inside and outside seating. Restrooms were really clean during our visit. Overall, we had a pleasant lunch meal here and will definitely return while in town.
